Activity Programmes

We recognise that there is a balance between providing stimulating activities for our residents and the need to allow them to preserve their privacy. In other words, nobody is forced to have fun!

We employ an Activities Co-ordinator who draws up programmes in consultation with the residents to determine what they want.

Our activities include exercise to music, indoor bowls, trips into Takaka each week for coffee, quilt making, live music, reading aloud, even making popcorn to eat while watching DVDs! Sometimes groups go to the beach or on walks together.  In the words of one staff member, "we just generally have fun. We have a lot of laughs!"
